Prevent thefts from garages, sheds and outbuildings(including theft of metal)

May has seen an increase of thefts  from garages & Sheds.

Highclere

3 thefts from the Church Lane area – These thefts have been targetting garden machinery

1 theft from properties on the road from Church Lane to Foxes Lane, again targetting garden machinery

1 theft from Foxes Lane – Bicycle stolen

Burghclere

2 sheds entered and nothing stolen from Ox Drove

1 Shed entered and nothing stolen from Breachfield

1 Shed entered and Chainsaw stolen from Harts Lane

1 Bicycle stolen from Pound Lane

Metal items and a cockerel stolen from Spring Lane

A bicycle was stolen from The Clere School

As you will see we have had a few bicycles stolen locally and we would ask residents to ensure that bikes are locked and ensure that frame numbers

are recorded.  Please report any suspicious activity including any persons selling or storing bicycles locally.

We would also like to remind residents to fit shed alarms wherever possible.

 

Reduce anti-social behaviour especially around Bishops Green

Local Police are continuing to work with local housing associations to target households involved in Anti-Social Behaviour.

 

Reduce speeding across the beat

There has been no speed enforcement carried out this month.

 

Other incidents of note

  • A male has been arrested and charged as a result of a house burglary in Ball Hill
  • A van was stolen from a locked compound in Harts Lane, Burghclere
  • Youths were seen throwing stones from the bridge over the A34
  • Local Police are working very hard as a result of the recent series of thefts from sheds. Please continue to be vigilant & fit alarms where possible.
  • We have both attended all of the recent parish assemblies and it was great to see them so well attended.
  • You may have recently seen an article in the local paper about a Police Office in the grounds of Highclere Castle.  This facility has kindly been made available

ADDITIONAL REPORT FOR MAY

Breaks to Outbuildings – Burghclere

Overnight between 17th-18th May in the Pound Lane and Ox Drove areas,three outbuildings were broken into.

Nothing was stolen from two of the outbuildings.

The third has had various items stolen including a bicycle.

Found Property – Highclere

FLYMO LITE XLT250 – ORANGE PETROL STRIMMER

HOMELITE – RED PETROL STRIMMER

These items were found in a field close to Church Lane. If you have any knowledge of who they may belong to please contact us.

Check your outbuildings and ensure that they are not yours!

 Thefts From Outbuildings – Highclere

Overnight between 15th-16th May, three properties had outbuildings broken into around the Church Lane area of Highclere.

Entry was forced to one garage and two sheds in total.

Items stolen include a STIHL CHAINSAW, a STIHL LEAFBLOWER  and a LAWNMOWER.

Theft From Outbuilding – Newtown

Between 9th – 14th May a property in Newtown had items stolen from an unlocked barn.

Items stolen include a RED & WHITE REEBOK MOUNTAIN BIKE and a DEWALT POWER DRILL.
