During June there were thefts from outbuildings in the following areas:
An empty house being renovated in Old Burghclere has had building materials stolen on 4 occasions.
An outbuilding at St Thomas’s School, Woolton Hill was broken into and various items stolen including 2 Dyson Vacuum cleaners and 100 toilet rolls
Alcohol was stolen from a garage in Woolton Lodge Gardens
Lead was removed from a derelict property in Tubbs Lane, Highclere.
A generator was stolen from a shed at Horris Hill School, Newtown
Tools stolen from house being built in Hyde Lane Ecchinswell
Electrical cable was stolen from the building site in Bishops Green
Many of the thefts we are experiencing are to empty properties being renovated or rebuilt. If you are planning a similar project please do contact us and let us know so we can give some security advice and include the property in our patrols.
A male from Penwood has been arrested and charged for various offences in the area including break-ins to sheds, theft of bicycle & scrap metal (including man hole covers & electrical cable). Stolen tools have also been recovered.
Reduce anti-social behaviour especially around Bishops Green
Local Police have been targeting the building site at Bishops Green relating to damage and theft of materials
A youth from Bishops Green admitted causing damage to a mini excavator at a farm in Bishops Green. As part of his sentence he worked with the aggrieved to repair the damage caused.
Reduce speeding across the beat
There have been numerous reports of a local vehicle being driven recklessly. This vehicle will now be targeted by the Roads Policing Unit.
A female in Bishops Green has been prosecuted for driving with no insurance.

The rear windscreen was smashed on a vehicle parked at Sydmonton
Damage caused to a section of pipe in sewage system at Yew Tree Inn, Highclere
A padlock was cut off a gate in Deadmoor Lane, Newtown
4 Persons and a vehicle have been searched in relation to suspected drugs offences in Bishops Green
Parcels were opened and items stolen from a front porch in Woolton Hill
A wallet was stolen from a van parked in Woolton Lodge Gardens, Woolton Hill
A window was smashed and wallet stolen from a car in Harwood Rise, Woolton Hill
Please ensure that valuables including wallets are removed from vehicles when left unattended.
