Barn Dance 29th September 2018

We had a thoroughly enjoyable Village Barn Dance on 29th September 2018 being led by an experienced bad (The Aldbrickham Band) with an excellent caller, Stuart.

A ploughman’s supper made for a great energy boost to help with dancing in the second half of the evening.

Crafty Craft – 7th May 2018

This was a record breaking year with wonderful weather; please take a look at the youtube video to have a feel for the event and put a note in the calendar for the first Monday in May 2019 to join in next year.

Daffodil Walk – 8th April 2018

Although the weather was not kind we had a great walk to see the wild daffodils on the afternoon of Sunday 8thApril in the area traversed by the footpath between Trade Street and Fullers Lane.

We started at 2pm and after a stroll across the boardwalk and down the lanes we stopped for welcome refreshments; thanks to those who joined us.

Quiz and Curry evening at The Rampant Cat – 20th Jan 2018

A big thanks to all who attended the fun quiz and curry evening on 20th January at the Rampant Cat.  Thanks too to Bill Vince for organising the questions and for the pub in making their excellent curry dishes.  £54 was raised for charity and as this amount will be matched, £108 will be going to The Rosemary Appeal after our next AGM.

Christmas charity walk – 27th Dec 2017

A total of 170 turned out for the 33rd Christmas charity walk on 27th December, despite freezing temperatures and a covering of snow. This event was arranged in conjunction with the local luncheon group, Los Jubilados as well as our neighbouring group, the Highclere Society.  Thanks to Andrew and Lisa Watson, for their hospitality in Hollington Lane, where mince pies, donated by Budgens Wash Common and Charles Mills of Budgens Mortimer, together with mulled mine, were served.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event which raised £600.  This amount is being matched and so £1200 will be going to The Rosemary Appeal.

Wine Quiz and AGM – 18th Nov 2017

At our recent Wine Quiz / AGM we were delighted to present a cheque for £700 to Dr Keith Endersby, a Trustee of The Rosemary Appeal.  This has also been matched with a donation by the Peter Baker Foundation thus raising £1400 in total.  Thank you to everyone who has supported the society in 2017 and thereby helping to raise money for this excellent local cause. The Rosemary Appeal is raising money for a new centre at West Berkshire Community Hospital, providing essential facilities, including day therapy, chemotherapy, renal dialysis, IV therapies and a CT Scanner

The Rosemary Appeal is the chosen charity for 2018 as well and each pound raised will again be matched.

The Wine Quiz in November was a huge success with 64 enjoying the fun evening.
