This is the crime summary for the month of March 2013 for the parishes of: Ashmansworth , East Woodhay, Highclere, Burghclere, Newtown, Litchfield, Ecchinswell & Sydmonton.

Total Crimes reported -13

House Burglary – 1

Thefts from sheds and outbuildings – 2

Theft from Vehicles – 2

Theft of a vehicle – 1

Other Theft – 2

Other Crime – 5

Prevent thefts from garages, sheds and outbuildings (including theft of metal):

  • Potential thieves entered a Barn in Ecchinswell, nothing was taken however it appears they carried out a search of the building.
  • Power tools were taken from a Garage in Newtown.

Reduce anti-social behaviour especially around Bishops Green:

  • There have been 8 reports of Anti-social behaviour throughout March.
  • There have been two reports of vehicles in the woods at Bishops Green. Vehicles are not permitted to be off road in this area. Vehicles involved in Anti-social behaviour will be seized!
  • Patrols continue in the areas affected.
  • Reports of young people on Treasure Hill, being loud, littering and damaging trees and bushes continue. Do you know who is doing this?

Reduce speeding across the beat:

  • Speed enforcement has been carried out across the beat with some people being reported for speeding.
  • Enforcement will continue where possible.
  • Patrol vehicles have been parked up in key spots to slow down drivers at busy times and speeding traffic monitored.

Other incidents of note:

  • A red Land Rover Defender was taken from an address in Hollington.
